Today I did a one hour blast around Windsor Great Park. It was raining and a planned 2 hour was cut short.
I also found a good plan on Zwift called the Bambino Fondo which will be handy when it’s time to train in the garage.

So, how do we get a fat, unfit 50 yr old to do 80km (50 miles) and get his sorry arse over Ditchling Beacon? Why, we have to train!
So I hit up google looking for training plans and it turns out there are as many plans as there are charities to support on this route.
As I’m doing this for the BHF I thought I’d go with theirs. There are 3 varieties but I’ll begin at the beginning with the beginners. Roll on Sunday for my 2 hour long ride.

Way back in July 2022 I submitted an application to enter the ballot for a slot on the BHF London to Brighton bike run in June 2023. Well, this week I heard that I had been successful. Secretly, lately I had been dreading this and was ambivalent to the whole thing, but now I am excited, honoured and plan to grab this bull by the horns and do it!
